I am suffering with the flu again - the second time in as many months, so not best pleased at the moment. The Lemsip Max are on the wane so i'll be popping a couple more of those bad boys shortly. Work is terminally dull and i've just been informed that I have an interview for my own job next Tuesday (don't get me started - it's a long story). One of the star members of my team is leaving tomorrow so i'm not looking forward to the goodbye's.

The weekend gone was rather uneventful except that we went out for drinks on the Friday night. Got completely rat-arsed (gee, how unusual) and can't remember half of the things I apparently got up to. We went to O'Neils in Soho, which has become something of a regular haunt for us - and I hate it. Desperately need to find a different venue with better atmosphere. Perhaps this loathing of O'Neils is the reason why I feel the need to get wankered in the shortest time possible? Maybe... ponder this on the 'tree of thought'. My drink of choice? Scotch and coke, very short with NO ice. When feeling particularly flush will opt for a Rusty Nail (scotch and drambui, NO ice). Ice will merely water down your drink and is to be avoided at all costs. I am no raving alcoholic though and rarely go out for drinks (perhaps once a month at the moment). I do not stock alcohol at home and don't got out for pints at lunch time (as can often be the norm in London).

I live in Marylebone and have a good half hour walk to work. I really enjoy the walking and never leave home without my new Archos604 to pipe overly loud music directly into my brain. Walking gives me time to think and there's always something interesting to capture your attention in London.

Music: Currently getting into Autechre (ambient, minimalist, electronic soundscapes) and have downloaded most of their albums. Also really enjoying albums by Arctic Monkeys, The Editors and The Infadels. Looking forward to the new Bloc Party album which comes out soon.

Recent films: The new version of 'The Omen' - what was the point? 'The Duellists' - brilliant film oft touted as one of the best films ever made.

Feeling like shite and wish I could go home to bed...
